celebrating singles - synopsis

Ok, check this post for more details - I'll be continually revising this one, as a sort of virtual scratch pad of thoughts

Background:
I've become more so aware of the situation of those that are single within church circles - and it kinda sux, but for not the reasons u might think

If we looked at it frankly, couples are deemed the norm, and anyone else residing outside that fraternity are considered almost lesser citizens. Like they're missing out, and almost pitied :S

Singles events, when done, are done with almost a charitable mindset and has, a lot of the time, resulted in a negative impact - no one wants to be charity case

Vision:
But this is all WRONG - being single isn't something that's pitiable, but it's something to be CELEBRATED. It's a time in life where you are out there, meeting new people and experiencing a life that's wild and on the edge - being single should be seen as an exciting stage in life

Preface
Let me start by saying, the concept is NOT to be taken seriously - this is not a concept in which the main purpose is to find a life partner!

Is is not a concept whereby there'll be any deep, meaningful or probing analysis, but more so for people to just have FUN, and to meet new people (but not with the intention of hooking up!)

You could see it as one big ice breaker game, huh... but hopefully one that's fun :P

Concept - (Speed dating explained)

Step one: As soon as you arrive at the venue you will be asked to write your name and contact details on a sheet.

Step two: Take a seat, girls on one side, boys the other. You have just three minutes to find out as much about each other as possible. When the whistle blows, all guys move along one. By the time you have reached your last speed dater you will have noted the number of every potential 'date' you have met in that time.

Step three: Hand in your feedback dates event form.

Step four: After the event you will be contacted with your match details via e-mail or text.

... to be continued
